GNOME and Speedy GUIs
GNOME gets a lot faster if you turn off menu icons. Not just a little faster either, it makes a lot of difference, bordering on the ridiculous. Menus look a lot cleaner too, and I’ve discovered that the icons don’t actually help you find items, except in bookmark lists.
